Platform UI
About this lesson
Kuika is a cloud-based all-in-one platform that enables you to develop web and mobile applications with low-code infrastructure that includes workflows.
The platform includes modules such as UI Design, Datasources, Process Automation, Email Builder, Report Designer, Scheduled Jobs, API Builder, and Configuration Manager, all designed to align with the application development workflow.
After logging into the platform, open the application you wish to work on from the Apps screen.
All module types have modules in the upper section. With UI Design, you can design interfaces and connect data; with Datasources, you can add data sources, create and manage custom actions; with Process Automation, you can create and manage process automations; and with Email Builder, you can design notifications to be sent to users of the application you are developing. With the Report Designer module, you can design reports within the application you are developing and use the report designs you create within the application you are developing. With Scheduled Jobs, you can add scheduled tasks such as monthly billing to the applications you develop, and with the API Builder module, you can use an application you develop in Kuika as a data source. In Configuration Manager, you can define the production configurations of the application you are developing. If you need support during the application development process, you can get help from the Kuika Support team with the Helpdesk module.
The UI Design module has panels on the left side where you can add elements, screens, and custom actions to your application.
The canvas in the middle shows the open screen. You can work on different views of the screen depending on the display mode at the top.
You can drag and drop elements into the screen design using Elements. Elements are listed under different categories.
You can add and organize new screens to the application using the Screens panel. You can use template screens when adding new screens. With CRUD, you can create screens that list, update, and delete a data table you have added in seconds.
You can also use an Excel document, such as a product or personnel list, to create screens for listing, adding/editing, and viewing. With Image to Screen, you can use artificial intelligence to convert an external screen image into a ready-to-use screen within the application. With Custom Actions, you can list or edit actions defined in the Datasources module and/or called via an API.
The Action Tree panel lists all actions within the screen you are currently on. You can also see the elements to which actions have been added in the list structure under the actions in this panel.
Item Tree displays the elements on the open screen in a parent/child relationship structure.
Languages allows you to translate the application into different languages.
On the right side, there are Properties and Styling panels that change dynamically based on the screen or selected element. With the Properties panel, you can configure the parametric settings and data binding of the selected element. With Authorization, you can define role-based authorization, and with Visibility, you can define when the relevant element will be visible. With Add Action, you can add and manage actions that have been added by default by the system and custom actions that you have prepared in the Datasources section to the selected screen or element.
With the Styling panel, you can manage the style settings of screens and elements.
You can add data sources such as ManagedDB, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Swagger API, Rest API, OData, C#, AI Actions, Google Blockly, MQTT, and Bluetooth for the application you are developing. The Datasources module comes with Managed DB, which is hosted on Kuika servers by default. You can also use other data sources and extend the application features with C#. You can expand the artificial intelligence scenarios in your application with AI Agent.
You can create or manage process automations in the application you develop.
You can use the Email Builder module to send email notifications such as account registration notifications and order received notifications to the users of the application you develop. It comes with default email designs for process automation and password reset flows. You can also use many email design templates of different types and designs.
With the Report Designer on the platform, you can design reports to be used in the application you develop. You can distribute the reports you design as PDF files.
You can schedule the actions you use in the application with the Scheduled Jobs module.
You can use an application developed with Kuika as a data source for different applications.
Using the API Builder module, you can convert an application you have developed into a data source in minutes.
Using the Configuration Manager module, you can define iOS and Android configurations for native mobile applications in addition to web application settings.
Kuika is always just a click away throughout the application development process.
