Therefore, before creating a new application, knowing these differences and choosing the appropriate application type based on these distinctions will contribute to the efficiency of your development process and benefit your application.

Now, let's take a quick look at these differences.

The Web application type primarily focuses on developing responsive applications that work within a browser. Features such as dialing a phone number or sharing actions across different applications are not present in web applications.

On the other hand, the Mobile-compatible application type offers features that work on both Android and iOS devices. Actions like calling a phone number or sharing are among the features available in this type of application.

The key differences between the two application types are as follows:

  1. Configuration Settings: In Web applications, you can only configure for the web, while in the Mobile-compatible application type, you can configure for both web and mobile applications.
  2. Element Differences: Web applications have access to all elements, whereas Mobile-compatible applications lack certain elements like Tooltip, Date & Time Range.
  3. Action Differences: Actions specific to mobile, such as calling a phone number (CallPhoneNumber), are not available in the web application type.
