With Report Designer, one of the modules offered by Kuika, you can easily design reports, contracts, proposals and many more. After completing your design, you can allow your users to download these reports or view them directly from their browsers. You can also send the content you have designed directly via email.
This module, like other modules, can be accessed from the “Header” section at the top of the application by clicking on the Report Designer icon.
Let's open the Report Designer module and move on.
When you open the module, you are greeted with a report naming field so that you can create a new report design. Name your report and press the “CREATE” button.
When you create a new report, you are redirected to the Canvas area where you can create your report designs. Canvas used in Report Designer offers a more flexible use compared to UI Design. When we examine Canvas, it has a squared structure as well as a “free position” feature that allows you to freely place elements wherever you want.
Report Designer is equipped with panels with various functions that you will need in your report design process. On the left side, there are “Elements”, “Reports”, “Custom Actions” and “Item Tree” panels; on the right side, there are “Properties” and “Styling” panels.
First, let's take a look at the panels on the left side.
The “Elements” panel does not contain all the elements found in the UI Design module; instead, it contains elements that will respond to the report design needs. When we look at the elements that can be used in Report Designer, there are Box, Header, Footer, Panel, Page Break, Label, Image, Icon, Barcode Renderer, Report Table and QR Renderer elements.
You can add these elements to the Canvas by dragging and dropping them according to your design needs.
The “Reports” panel allows you to create new reports, list existing reports, change names, copy and delete.
The “Custom Actions'' panel helps you manage the custom actions you want to use in your application and report design. This panel also lists the actions you created in UI Design and Data Sources modules.
Finally, the “Item Tree” panel shows the hierarchy of elements used in your report design and allows you to select the element you want to work on.
Now let's move to the panels on the right side.
The “Properties” panel, like in the UI Design module, allows you to manage the properties of the report and elements. Data operations, action binding, special operations and visibility settings can be done through this panel. The “Styling” panel allows you to style the background of the Canvas and the elements you use in your report design.
With these features and panels, the Report Designer module offers a flexible design environment that streamlines your report design process.
