Data Binding with Nested Structure in Data Elements

With Kuika's Nested feature, you can drag and drop Table, Gallery View and Flex Grid elements into each other and connect data. In this tutorial, you will learn how to use the Nested feature and data repeater elements within each other.

Nested structure supports web and mobile applications.

Up to one Table, Gallery View or Flex Grid element can be added within a Table element.

Create Nested Data Elements with the Nested Property

  1. Log in to the Kuika platform and open the project you will work on from the Apps screen.
  2. In the UI Design module, drag and drop the Table element from the Elements panel on the left side to the screen.
  1. Then, drag and drop another Table element inside the Table element. You can also use Gallery View or Flex Grid elements.

Thus, you will create a nested table with nested elements.

Connect Data Source to Elements

  1. Login to the Data Sources module.
  2. Click on the + icon in the Sources tab on the left side.
  1. Connect the data source with REST API or C#.
  2. After selecting the data source, click the CREATE button.
Only REST API and C# data sources can be connected to nested data elements. Other data sources such as MSSQL DB, Swagger, Bluetooth, AI Actions are not supported.

Test Nested Data Elements

  1. While in theUI Design module, open the Properties panel on the right side.
  1. Click on the main Table element and select the data connection from the Data Sources drop-down menu. (For example; customer list)
  2. Click on the second Table element you added inside the main Table element.
  3. Select a data connection from the Data Sources drop-down menu in theProperties panel. This data source should be another list inside the main Table element. (For example, select the list of addresses in the customer list).
  4. You can preview your application by clicking the Preview button in the upper right corner.

By following these steps, you can nested data elements using the Nested feature in Kuika and enable dynamic data management in your applications.
