Thanks to Kuika's Appetize integration, you can facilitate cloud-based software testing processes for your users. You can quickly add Appetize integration to the application you have developed through the Configuration Manager module on the Kuika platform. In this way, you can perform mobile application tests within the application and test your applications on real devices to improve the user experience. In this tutorial, you will learn how to add Appetize integration to your applications.

You must have an active Appetize account to follow the steps described in this guide.

For Appetize integration;

  • Create an Appetize account,
  • Appetize definitions should be made with Configuration Manager,
  • You must upload your app to Appetize.

Create an Appetize Account

  1. Log in to the Appetize website and enter the required information in the Login field.
  1. Then click on API Token from the Organization Settings field on the left side.
  1. After clicking the Request button, the relevant API Token will be sent to your e-mail address.
  2. Store the API Token information for later use in operations in the Configuration Manager module.

Appetize Integration with Configuration Manager

  1. After logging into the Kuika platform, open the project you will work on from the Apps screen.
  2. Then click on the Configuration Manager module.
  3. From the screen that opens, give the configuration a name and click on the CREATE button.
  4. From the modal that opens, go to the iOS or Android tab depending on the device you want to test. In this tutorial, we will continue with the iOS operating system.
  1. After entering the necessary information in the App Store Settings field, select Appetize as Publish Type.
  2. Then enter the Appetize API Token information.
  3. Save the process with the SAVE button in the upper right corner.

Upload Your App to Appetize

After entering the Appetize API Token information in the Configuration Manager field, the test link for the application will be sent to your e-mail. By clicking on this link, you can test your application in the Device Sandbox area according to your device preference.

When you need to test your applications before uploading them to the App Store and Play Store, you can access the relevant content from the links to get more information. The features in the iOS and Android test areas are as follows:

  • Device: Allows you to select the device model.
  • OS: Allows you to set your version preference.
  • Orientation: Allows you to view the test process horizontally or vertically.
  • Scale: Allows you to set the screen size and scale of your application. Especially useful for testing the user experience on different screen sizes.
  • App Recorder: Allows you to record your interactions in your app. It helps you analyze processes and user behavior within the app.
  • Network Logs: Allows you to monitor your application's network traffic and get information about network requests and responses.
  • Debug Logs: It allows you to record errors and warnings that occur in your application. During the debugging process, these logs help identify problems.
  • ADB Tunnel: It is a tool that allows you to perform application development and debugging operations by remotely connecting to virtual Android devices on the Appetize.io platform. It is only available for Android apps.

You can then view and run past versions of your app that you have tested from the Apps area.
