Upload the App on Play Store

The Kuika platform allows you to upload your app to the Google Play Store quickly and efficiently. During the publishing process, you must ensure that you meet all the requirements of your app. This training content explains the steps to publish an app on the Play Store.

Create a Google Play Developer Account

You can publish an application you have developed with Kuika through Google Play Console. For this you need to create a Google Play Developer Account. The steps are given below:

1.1. Registration

  • Sign up for Google Play Console with your Google account.
  • You must be over 18 years of age and have two-step verification enabled.
To access the Google Play Console, you must register a developer account using a Google account.

1.2. Adding Account Information

Personal Account Information:

  • Play Console and Android experience
  • Website
  • Developer name
  • Contact person
  • Contact email address
  • Contact address
  • Telephone number
  • Preliminary information about the applications you will publish

Corporate Account Information:

  • Organization name
  • Organization type
  • Organization size
  • Organization address
  • Telephone number

1.3. Approval of Contracts and Terms and Conditions

  • Agree to the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement and Google Play Console Terms of Service.

1.4. Payment Transactions

  • Pay a one-time registration fee to create an account.
Google Play Store Requirements

To publish an app on the Google Play Store, fulfill the following requirements:

  • Developer Account: Required to access the Google Play Console.
  • Application Information:
    • Name (up to 50 characters)
    • Short description (Maximum 80 characters)
    • Full description (Maximum 4000 characters)
    • Icon: 32-bit PNG, 512 x 512 pixels, up to 1024 KB
    • Feature graphic: JPEG or 24-bit PNG, 1024 x 500 pixels
    • Screenshots: Minimum 320 x 320 pixels, maximum 3840 x 3840 pixels (At least two)

The maximum size of your screenshot cannot be more than twice the minimum size.

  • Size Limit: APK size should not exceed 150 MB.
  • Signature Configuration: Google Play App Signing must be used.
  • Version Requirements: Use a different “Version Code” for each update. The code must not exceed 2100000000.
  • API Level: Adhere to Google Play's target API requirements.
  • Language Support: The default language is English. You can add additional translations if needed.
  • Category and Tags: Categorize your application correctly.
Configure Settings to Upload an App to the Google Play Store

You can configure the settings of your application on the Kuika platform with the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Kuika platform.
  2. Open the mobile project from the Apps screen.
  1. Select the Configuration Manager module.
  2. Create and name a new configuration.
  1. Click on the Android tab and configure the following settings:
    • App Name App name to be displayed on the device
    • Bundle ID: Unique ID of the application (e.g. com.workspaceadi.applicationadi)
    • Version: Version number (e.g. 1.0.0)
    • App Version Code: Integer incremented with each update
    • Minimum Android Version: Android 8 or higher
    • Use Cleartext Traffic: Set HTTP traffic permissions
    • Trust All Certificates: Determine whether to accept SSL certificates as trusted
    • Haptic Enabled: Enable haptic feedback
  1. In Play Store Settings, select the publication type using ADD NEW:
  1. Appetize: Used for cloud-based testing.
    • Fill in the Appetize API Token field.
  1. APK: Used for installation of Android apps.
    • Fill in the SHA-256 Certificate Fingerprints field.
  1. AAB: Used for Android application packages.
    • Signing Store File: Add the .jks file
    • Signing Store Password: Enter the password
    • Signing Key Alias: Enter key alias
    • Signing Key Password: Enter the password for the key
    • SHA-256 Certificate Fingerprints: Enter SHA-256 information
  2. After completing the settings, click the CREATE button.
Publish Your Android Application
  1. Sign in to Google Play Console:
  • Sign in with your Google Play developer account.
  • On the All Apps page, click the Create App button.
  1. Configure App Settings:
  • App Name Application name
  • Language: Language support
  • Pricing and Distribution: Free or paid option
  • Declarations Accept developer policies and export laws
  1. Test and Release Your App:
  • Starting Testing Now: Start the beta testing phase
  • Select Testers: Identify testers
  • Create and Roll Out Release: Release beta or full version
  1. Settings
  • Privacy Policy: Add privacy policy URL
  • App Access: Configure API accesses
  • Ads Configure advertising policies
  • Content Rating: Set the age limit
  • Target Audience: Select the target audience
  • Data Safety: Explain data security policies
  1. Release Your App:
    • Production Track Live version settings
    • Open Testing Track: Beta testing open to users
    • Closed Testing Track: Limited beta testing
    • Internal Testing Track: Internal team testing
  2. Fill in the Main Store Listing Information:
  • App Name: Name
  • Short Description: Short description
  • Full Description: Detailed description
  • App Icon Icon
  • Feature Graphic: Feature Graphic
  • Video Promotional video
  • Phone Screenshots Phone screenshots
  • Tablet Screenshots: Screenshots for 7-inch and 10-inch tablets
  • Chromebook Specify Chromebook compatibility
  1. Submit for Review:
  • After completing all fields, go to the Publishing Overview tab.
  • Submit your app for review by clicking the Send App For Review button.

If your app is approved after the review process, it will be available for download by users. If there is a problem, you can get feedback and make the necessary adjustments.
