Share

Kuika's Share action allows you to quickly and easily transfer content from your device to other applications or sharing platforms. Users can easily share documents, text, or media files from your application via email, messaging applications, social media, and many other platforms.

Technical Features

  • Web and Mobile Application Support Works on both web and mobile applications.
  • Sharing Content: Can be shared as text, link or file.
• User Interaction: The sharing menu opens the device's local sharing options.
  • Usage Area: Document sharing, content distribution, social media integrations.

Share Action Application Steps

1. Open your project on the Kuika Platform

  • Log in to Kuika.
  • Select your project from the Apps screen.

2. Add a Share Trigger in the UI Design Module

  • In the UI Design screen, drag and drop a Button or another trigger element from the left panel onto the screen.
  • You can write text such as ‘Share’ or ‘Start Sharing’ in the Label section of the button.

3. Add the Share Action

  • Select the button and add the Device > Share action from the + ADD ACTION menu according to the desired trigger event (Initial Actions, OnClick, OnBlur, etc.).

4. Configure the Share Content

  • Text: Enter the message to be shared as fixed text or configure it with dynamic data fields.

Use Case: Quickly Share Reports in the Application

In a business application, users want to quickly share reports or documents they have created with their colleagues.

  1. In the UI Design module, add a ‘Share Report’ button to the report screen.
  2. Add the Share action to the button.
  3. Add a short description or link to the report to be shared in the Text field.
  4. When the user clicks the button, the device's sharing menu opens and they can complete the sharing on the platform of their choice.

Share Action Advanced Customisations

  • Dynamic Content Sharing: The text or links to be shared can be dynamically changed according to the user or application status.
  • File Sharing: To the extent supported by the platform, file types other than text (such as PDF, image, video, VCF) can be shared. VCF (vCard) files, in particular, are commonly used to share contact information in a standard format and can be used in two different ways in your application:
    • Generate VCF: Contact information is dynamically processed in the application and an instant VCF file is created.
    • Download VCF: A pre-generated or fixed VCF file is made available for the user to download.
    • Either method can be preferred depending on your use case.
  • Conditional Sharing: The sharing action becomes active when certain conditions are met; for example, if the user is logged in or certain content is selected.

Technical Risks

  • Sharing Content: Some applications or platforms may restrict shared content.
  • User Experience: The sharing menu may vary depending on the device and platform.

The Share action is a powerful feature that enhances the user experience by enabling quick and easy sharing of content on the Kuika platform. It is easy to integrate and has a wide range of applications.
