Open In Web View

Kuika's Open In Web View action allows users to view external web pages within the mobile application. This allows users to browse specific web content directly within the application without leaving it. It is particularly suitable for documents, support pages, help guides or embedded web applications.

Technical Features

  • Mobile Support Only: This action works only in mobile apps.
  • Open External Web Pages: Users access web content without leaving the app.
  • User Experience: Provides seamless navigation without page transitions.

Open In Web View Action Application Steps

1. Define the Action in UI Design

  • Open your project in the Kuika platform.
  • Go to the UI Design module and select the screen to which the web page will be redirected.
  • Create a button such as ‘View Content’.
  • Select the button and follow this path from the + ADD ACTION menu according to the triggering event (Initial Actions, OnClick, OnBlur, etc.): Device → Open In Web View

2. Configure Action Parameters

  • URL: Enter the full address of the web page to be opened (example: https://academy.kuika.com/en)

Click the SAVE button to complete the configuration.

Usage Scenario: Opening the Help Page Within the Application

In a mobile application, when a user wants to view a help or support page related to the application, this page can be opened within the application instead of an external browser.

Adding the Open In Web View Action

  1. Write ‘View Help’ in the Label section of the button.
  2. Select the button and add the Open In Web View action from the + ADD ACTION menu: OnClick → Device → Open In Web View.

Specifying Action Parameters

  • URL: https://academy.kuika.com/en

When the user clicks this button, the support page opens in a Web View window within the application.

Open In Web View Action Advanced Customisations

  • The web page address can be dynamically generated based on the user's selections. For example, when the user selects a help topic using the Symbol Picker, the relevant help page can be generated as follows:
  • User Segmentation: Different pages can be opened for different user types.

Technical Risks

  • Web Page Incompatibility: If the opened web page is not optimised for mobile viewing, the experience may be poor.
  • URL Format: Addresses entered without http:// or https:// may not work.

The Open In Web View action allows users to access external content seamlessly from within the mobile app. It is an ideal solution for providing an in-app experience without redirecting the user to an external browser. It is frequently used for help pages, terms of use, embedded forms, and HTML-based content.
