Mail To

Kuika's Mail To action allows users to send emails to a specified email address from within the application using the device's default email application. This process is performed without the need for any API integration and takes place directly through the device's email client (e.g. Gmail, Outlook).

Users can manually edit and send the email. This action is ideal for tasks such as receiving feedback within the app, redirecting support requests, or establishing communication. In contrast, Kuika's Send Mail action enables automatic email sending in the background without user intervention and requires API integration; therefore, it is preferred for system alerts or automatic notifications.

Technical Features

  • Web and Mobile App Support: Works on web and mobile apps.
  • Email Application Triggering: Opens with the email client defined on the user's device.
  • Quick Configuration: Parameters such as recipient, subject, content, cc, and bcc can be easily defined.
  • Communication Without Leaving the Domain: An email draft can be created without leaving the application.

Mail To Action Application Steps

  1. Log in to the Kuika platform.
  2. Select the project you want to work on from the Apps screen.
  3. Go to the UI Design module.
  4. Open the Properties panel on the right side.
  5. Add a Button element to be used for sending emails.
  1. Select the button and add the Device > Mail To action from the + ADD ACTION menu according to the desired trigger event (Initial Actions, OnClick, OnBlur, etc.).

Configuring the Mail To Action

Required Parameters:

  • Receivers: The address or addresses to which the email will be sent
    • example: support@kuika.com

Optional Parameters (ADD OPTIONAL PARAMETER):

  • cc: Address to which a copy of the email will be sent
  • bcc: Blind carbon copy recipient
  • subject: Email subject
    • example: Feedback about the application
  • body: Body of the email (default content)
    • example: Hello, I have a suggestion about your application...

All fields can be filled with fixed values or dynamic values taken from the symbol selector.

After configuring all fields, click the SAVE button to complete the process.

Usage Scenario: Send Feedback Button

An ‘Send Feedback’ button is included in a shopping application so that users can report suggestions and complaints. When the user clicks this button, they are redirected to the email application on their device, and the subject and content are pre-filled.

Application Steps:

  1. UI Design screen, add a Button element.
  2. Set the button's label to ‘Send Feedback.’
  3. Select the button and add the + ADD ACTION → Device → Mail To action.
  4. Configure the parameters as follows:
    • Receivers: support@shoppingapp.com
    • subject: App Feedback
    • body: Hello, I have some feedback about my experience with the app...

When the action is executed, the default email client on the user's device opens with all fields automatically filled in.

Mail To Action Advanced Customisations

  • Use Dynamic Content: Enrich the email content with variables such as user names and form inputs.
  • Recipient Selection Based on Roles: Administrator users can be redirected to a different address.

Technical Risks

  • Email Application Requirement: If the user's device does not have an email client configured, the action may fail.
  • HTML Format Not Supported: The body text is sent as plain text; HTML format is not supported.
  • Long Content Restriction: Some devices may have character limits for the subject and body fields.

The Mail To Action is an effective and practical method for establishing quick communication, collecting feedback, or connecting directly with users in Kuika applications. Thanks to web and mobile application support, it is highly accessible on all platforms. Additionally, it can be implemented with just a few configuration steps, without the need for API integration.
