With Kuika's GPS Tracker feature, you can track users' locations in real time through the mobile application you develop. GPS Tracker provides live location tracking in your app by recording users' geolocation information at certain intervals.
Supporting mobile apps only, GPS Tracker is compatible with iOS and Android apps.
GPS Tracker Features
Location Tracking: Continuously determines and records the geographical location where the device is located.
Data Logging: The location information received at specified time intervals is saved in the KGpstracking table in ManageDB.
GPS Tracker Settings
After logging into the Kuika platform, open the project you will work with from the “Apps” screen.
Then click on the “Configuration Manager” module.
From the screen that opens, give a name (1) to the configuration and click the “CREATE” (2) button.
Since GPS Tracker only works on mobile apps, activate the iOS and/or Android configuration settings using the switch. The settings for iOS and Android work the same.
Find the GPS Tracker heading in the settings list.
Click ADD NEW from the drop-down menu opposite Settings.
Configure Settings
Naming Name the GPS Tracker setting with a descriptive name.
Min.Distance Between Updates: Specify how often the location information is updated, in meters.
Location Accuracy:
Approximate: Retrieves the user's location with approximate accuracy.
Precise: Gets the user's exact location.
Background Location: Enable this setting to track location even when the application is running in the background.
After making all settings, click the CREATE button.
Defining User Permissions
1. Location Tracking Consent
Click ADD NEW from the drop-down menu opposite Permission Text.
In the modal screen that opens:
Title: Enter a title for the permission text.
Content: Type the permission text to be shown to users.
Language Options: Add the relevant translations for each language supported by your application.
Create the permission text by clicking the CREATE button.
2. Background Location Tracking Permission
Click ADD NEW from the drop-down menu opposite Background Permission Text.
In the modal screen that opens:
Title: Enter a title for the permission text.
Content: Type the text that will be shown to users for background location tracking.
Language Options: Add the relevant translations for each language your app supports.
Create the permission text by clicking the CREATE button.
After completing these steps, you can effectively use the GPS Tracker feature to track and record user locations in your app.
