Kuika's Start External Process action is a tool that allows you to start a workflow externally in your application. It enables automation of workflows and effective management of processes by running in different environments and platforms. With the Start External Process action, you can easily trigger your processes, track the status of the started workflows and perform registration operations smoothly thanks to process ID returns. In this training content, you will learn how to use the Start External Process action and how to check the correct process ID formats.

The Start External Process action supports web and mobile applications.

Add Start External Process Action

After logging into the Kuika platform, open the project you will work on from the “Apps” screen.

While in the “UI Design” module, open the “Properties” panel on the right side.
Select “Initial Actions → Process Automation → Start External Process” from the “+ADD ACTION” drop-down menu.

Then configure the following fields:
- External Project: Select the external project name from which to start the process. This specifies the project where the workflow to be run is located.
- Process: Select the workflow to start. In this field, you can specify which process the Start External Process action will start by selecting one of the processes defined in the external project.

After completing the configuration, you can save your action and test and validate your process flow.
