Scroll To

Kuika's Scroll To action allows users to quickly scroll to a specific element in the user interface of web applications. It improves user experience by allowing users to easily access the section they need, especially on long pages or form screens.

Technical Features

  • Platform Support: Works only in web applications.
  • Element Selection: The target element to be scrolled is specified with the element selector.
  • Usage Area: Long forms, information panels, or in-page navigation.

Scroll To Action Application Steps

1. Open Your Project on the Kuika Platform

  • Log in to Kuika.
  • Select the relevant web project from the Apps screen.

2. Create a Button or Trigger in the UI Design Module

  • In the UI Design screen, drag a Button or another element from the left panel and drop it onto the page.
  • You can write a phrase such as ‘Go to the bottom of the form’ or ‘Scroll to details’ in the Label property of the element.

3. Add the Scroll To Action

  • Select the button or trigger element you created.
  • Open the + ADD ACTION menu from the Properties panel on the right.
  • Select the button and add the Device > Scroll To action from the + ADD ACTION menu according to the trigger event you want (Initial Actions, OnClick, OnBlur, etc.).
  • In the action parameters, select the target element within the page where the scroll will occur (e.g., a form container, information panel, or another container) in the Select Component field.

Use Case: Quickly Scroll to the Bottom of a Long Form

In a registration form, a ‘Go to Bottom of Form’ button can be created to allow users to quickly access the “Submit” button at the bottom of the form.

  1. In UI Design, add a ‘Go to Bottom of Form’ button to the form screen.
  2. Assign the Scroll To action to the button.
  3. Select the button or container element at the bottom of the form as the target.
  4. When the user clicks the ‘Go to Bottom of Form’ button, the page automatically scrolls to the bottom section of the form.

Scroll To Action Advanced Customisations

  • Conditional scrolling: For example, do not scroll if the form is incomplete, or redirect to the relevant field if there are errors.
  • Dynamic target selection: Scroll to different elements based on the user's action.
  • Scroll animation: Make the scrolling smooth and visually user-friendly.

Technical Risks

  • Element Accuracy: If the target element is not selected correctly, scrolling will not occur.
  • Page Structure: On dynamically loaded pages, the target element may not have loaded yet, causing the scroll to fail.

The Scroll To action is a practical and easily configurable feature developed by Kuika that speeds up user navigation and improves ergonomics in web applications.
