Go Back

The Go Back action allows users to quickly and easily return to the previous screen within the application. This action is particularly useful in step-by-step processes, where users need to review previous steps or correct an action. It improves the user experience by making navigation intuitive and user-friendly.

Technical Features

  • Return to Previous Screen: Redirects the user to the previous screen.
  • User Experience: Provides a quick and intuitive solution for the need to go back.
  • Process Tracking: Enables going back in multi-step forms or process chains.
  • Web and Mobile Compatibility: The Go Back action works seamlessly on both web and mobile applications.

Go Back Action Application Steps

  1. Log in to the Kuika platform and open the project you are working on.
  2. Go to the UI Design module and open the Properties panel on the right panel.
  1. + ADD ACTION menu and add the Navigation > Go Back action according to the trigger event you want (Initial Actions, OnClick, OnBlur, etc.).

After these steps, the user will be redirected to the previous page when the relevant area is clicked. No parameter configuration is required.

Use Case: Form Return Process

A user fills in their information in a three-step registration form and reaches the second step. However, they realise that they need to update the information in the first step. They click the ‘Back’ button to go to the previous step and update their information. This process is carried out using the Go Back action.

Adding a Return Action

  • Go to the UI Design Module: Enter the UI Design screen.
  • Add a Button: Drag and drop a Button element from the left panel.
  • Customise the Button Label: Enter a phrase such as ‘Back’.
  • Define Action: Select the button → + ADD ACTIONOnClick → Navigation → Go Back to add the action.

Action Workflow

  • Step-by-Step Form: The user returns from step 2 to step 1 to check their previous information.
  • Order Process: When the user reaches the payment step, they return to the previous step to change their product selection.

Go Back Action Advanced Customisations

  • Conditional Return: In some cases, you can allow return under certain conditions (e.g., return if the form is valid).

Technical Risks

  • Redirect Loop: To avoid a repeating redirect loop with the return, the user flow must be well planned.

The Go Back action makes the user flow in your application more intuitive, facilitates error correction, and makes multi-step structures such as forms more functional. Thanks to this action, which is compatible with both web and mobile, your users can safely return to previous pages and continue their transactions without interrupting their experience.
