During the application development process with Kuika, you can connect to services that use the OData protocol and use these services as data sources in your applications.

OData (Open Data Protocol) is a web protocol that enables standard and simple interaction with data-centric services. This protocol, which operates over HTTP, facilitates data querying and updating in accordance with the REST architecture. OData services are commonly used in enterprise systems and work with structured data formats such as JSON or XML. Kuika enables you to exchange data with these systems thanks to its OData support.

You can integrate OData into Kuika using different authorization methods and use the data assets in the OData service you connect to directly in your application. For example, you can dynamically populate a table on an application screen with data from the OData service and perform query or update operations.

You can use the Datasources module to integrate your OData service into applications developed with Kuika. To add a new data source, simply click the “+” icon in the module. In the screen that opens, click the OData option, enter a name for your data source, and proceed to the connection screen.

In the OData connection screen, you must first define a Metadata URL and Service Base URL. The Metadata URL defines the data schema belonging to the service and transfers the structure of the data entities in the service to Kuika. The Service Base URL specifies the basic address that will provide access to the service.

After defining the relevant URL, you will be asked to enter the authorization information for the OData service. During the authorization information definition process, you can select one of the options No Auth (no authorization), Bearer, Basic, or API Key and define the required information and parameters.

After entering the information and making the definitions, you can establish the data source connection using the CREATE button.

Thanks to the Kuika and OData integration, you can develop fast, secure, and flexible applications, integrate data from existing systems into the Kuika platform, and create manageable and scalable solutions.
